"In the month of January 2020, I started working for The National Association of Minority Contractors DFW Chapter as a Project Engineer intern. During the three months I was at NAMC DFW for an internship, I was able to gain experience with design of online plan room and had the privilege of joining construction site visits. NAMC DFW was a very transparent and wonderful platform that enabled me to interact with all their client and associate members, which helped me in networking and building strong contacts in construction firm.

The founder of NAMC DFW Ms. Demetria Bivens was a wonderful mentor to me because of her willingness to share with me her knowledge about construction firm. She treats everyone with much love and care while creating an encouraging environment around her to help everyone move forward in the industry.

Recently, I graduated with my Master of Science in Construction Management from The University of Texas at Arlington. This is a period of time where many are struggling due to loss of jobs and recent graduates from colleges are struggling to find jobs because of COVID-19. Like any other student, I was also struggling to find a job right after graduation. However, what really helped me to overcome this hurdle were the connections that I made during my time at NAMC DFW.

Just after one week of my graduation, I received an offer letter for a Project Engineer position from Post L Group. This was possible because of the contacts, experience, and knowledge I gained from my time at NAMC DFW.

I would like to thank Ms. Bivens and NAMC DFW for the all support and opportunities." - Akhilesh G.

"I'm excited about having him on board" -Jeffery Postell President at Post L Group

We wish Akhilesh G. on your new journey as a Project Engineer at Post L Group!
Has NAMC DFW impacted you or your company we'd love to share your experience.
